To play additional campaigns (Episode 1 & 2, Portal and Half-life: Source), you need to install additional content. If before the installation you had enough free disk space for the "Recommended System Requirements" from step 1, you should be good to go. Run steamcmd.sh again.

Use the game launch options. 1 Click Library in Steam. 2 Righr click the Half-Life game. 3 Next select properties. 4 Click the box "set launch options". 5 Then enter the command "-w 1600 -h 900" no quote marks. 6 Click ok. #1. Add launch parameters to force settings before launch. Click and drag hl.exe into command prompt, and add “-game bshift -window -w 1280 -h 720” after the path, then press enter. That should launch it in a 1280x720 window. There you’ll be able to change the settings through the game.
